Tanning and weight loss

Fact or Fiction

Did you know that tanning can also help you to lose weight? It can cleanse fat-stored toxins, boost the immune system and burn fat. Body fat becomes water-soluble at 43ºC allowing the body to sweat it off. A 30 minute sauna creates approximately the same amount of perspiration as a 10 kilometer run.

But if your immune system is weak, so is your metabolism, and without a working metabolism, the body can’t lose weight. Sunlight stimulates the immune system. It also provides your body with a healthy dose of vitamin D, giving it the energy it needs to get to work. So stop feeling bad about wearing a swimsuit or shorts, at least you are doing something about your weight!

Still not convinced? If you’re one of those people that have been avoiding the sun because of cancer risk, melanoma and other skin ailments then take this into account. The cosmetics companies who sell you sunscreen want you to believe the sun is bad for you! Don’t get me wrong too much sun, too many sunburns and you are probably going to have medical issues later, but in moderation it’s extremely good for you. Now tanning salons are fighting back. The ultra violet rays from the sun in reasonable doses have been clinically proven as a prevention in diseases like breast cancer, heart disease and even osteoporosis. Ever wonder why people who have a tan look healthier? It’s because they are. A better immune system means a healthier body, so tanning will get you one step closer to that gorgeous figure you’ve always wanted. What’s better than losing weight while lying in the sun?
