Smoothies – A Great Way to Lose Weight!

I’m a huge fan of smoothies, they’re quick to make and delicious to drink. There are hundreds of diets that swear by smoothies, either as meal replacements or a healthy alternative to snacking. Drinking a smoothie in the morning will kick start your metabolism and help you lose that weight during the day. Here are a couple of the best smoothie recipes I found on the internet:

You Will Need:

  • A good quality blender, one that crushes ice effectively
  • Fresh or frozen ingredients (fruit can be frozen)
  • A tall glass
  • A straw (optional)

1. Honey and Pineapple Smoothie
Ingredients

  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 3/4 cup crushed pineapple
  • 4 small carrots sliced
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 4 ice cubes

Blend the ice first, then add ingredients. Enough for 2 helpings.

2. Green Tea Smoothie
Ingredients

  • One teabag of green tea
  • 2/3 cup of water
  • Half a cup of mango
  • 1 lime wedge (squeeze juice)
  • 2 cups of crushed ice

Brew the green tea as normal to strength and allow to cool. Blend ice, add the rest, including tea.

3. Fresh Tomato Smoothie
Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped tomatoes
  • ¼ cup of chopped celery
  • ¼ cup of apple juice
  • ¼ cup of tomato juice
  • ½ cup of carrots
  • Tabasco sauce to taste
  • 2 cups ice

Blend ice first, then the rest of the ingredients.

4. Strawberry Smoothie
Ingredients

  • 6 oz. fat free strawberry or vanilla frozen yogurt
  • 5 big juicy strawberries
  • 4 oz. sugar free lemonade
  • 1 packet of sugar replacement sweetener

Blend together and serve!

5. Healthy Strength Smoothie
Ingredients

  • Half a cup of yogurt plain
  • Half a cup of fruit juice
  • Half a banana, strawberries, peaches
  • 1 tablespoon of molasses
  • 1 tablespoon of soy protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon of wheat germ

Blend ice, add fruit, add yogurt, juice and powders.

6. Peach Smoothie
Ingredients

  • 2 cups of sliced tender peaches
  • ½ cup fat free milk
  • 1 cup fat free peach yogurt
  • Sprinkling of nutmeg
  • 2 cups of ice

Blend ice, blend the rest!
