Kirstie Alley

We all know Kirstie Alley from the ‘Look Who’s Talking’ movies and television shows like Veronica’s closet. She’s been hopelessly thin, rather plump and well, quite fat. Has any other celebrity struggled as much as she has with her weight? Lately she’s been very vocal about the new Jenny Craig diet that she’s been on. She’s rumored to have lost fifty five pounds from it and is still dropping every day. Can this be true? Has Kirstie Alley got any pearls of wisdom for the weight loss community? Well some say not.
She has been said to have been ‘fired’ from her Jenny Craig spokeswomen position because she just couldn’t stick to the strict diet of fruit and bits of muesli. I really don’t blame her for wanting to try and create her own weight loss product. There is nothing more frustrating than having to live in deprivation. My heart really goes out to her. There can be nothing more soul destroying than tabloids remarking on every pound she gains and what it means about her as a person.
Kirstie has been through the mill. In her latest biography, ‘How to lose your ass and regain your life,’ she tells us of the years she spent as an addict with nothing but drugs as her only comfort. After everything this successful actress has been through I really don’t mind that her only problem nowadays is her weight. It’s so unfair that singers on drugs are idolized but an actress who has come out of that and now has a smaller weakness (food) has to be so scolded by these tabloid journalists. Let’s take a look at what Kirstie had to eat on an average Jenny Craig diet day:
For Breakfast: Breakfast Burrito (home made)
For Lunch: Beef and barley stew (home made)
For Supper: Chicken Carbonara (home made)
Snacks: Pumpkin Spice cake (home made)
This sounds delicious but realistically who in their right mind is going to stand by a stove all day making these recipes? It’s not realistic for the average woman. Between feeding the kids and going to work, cleaning the house and doing the shopping when am I ever going to have time to make a Pumpkin Spice cake for myself? You are a better woman than me Ms. Alley for putting up with this plan for so long!

Actually, with the Jenny Craig diet most of your meals are prepared for you. The diet doesn’t require you to prepare entire meals yourself. You just add on healthy vegetables, fruits and dairy and your set!
