Exercise

A Doctor’s Opinion

Why Exercise at All?

With the ever increasing amount of diet pills, lose weight quick schemes and starvation diets people lose sight of the fact that we need to exercise. In the world today where we barely have to walk anywhere, our jobs are stationary and food is brought to our door, many people have simply stopped exercising altogether.

Exercise is vital to weight loss, and to our lives in general. The more muscle we build with exercise the healthier our bodies get. Organs functions better, food is digested faster and we get to enjoy a healthy life. Keeping in shape is not just for the health nuts that gym three times a day.

Over time the lack of exercise will affect your body’s weight and health. Eating as little as a hundred extra calories a day will result in a ten pound gain per year. This can be avoided by doing a simple half an hour a day exercise!

There is no great secret to losing weight. What I will say is that eating right, exercising and taking a supplement will make you lose weight very fast. You need balance and consistency however, if you leave the exercise part out some pills can make you gain weight!

Here is some medical advice on how to lose weight and be healthy:

  • Eat smaller portions, more often(4-6) times a day
  • Eat your biggest meal during lunch so that your body can have time to burn it off.
  • Drink a lot of water, especially before, during and after exercise.
  • Eat as much fibre as you can.
  • Cut out guilty pleasures like desert, smoking and drinking.
  • Eat steamed vegetables every day
  • Change all your dairy items to low or non fat options.
  • Don’t use salt in your food.
  • Try not to cook with oil.
  • White meat is better than red meat.
  • Exercise at least 4 times a week.
  • These tips are endorsed by doctors and will work better than any diet will.
